In Italy you can celebrate your catholic ceremony in some between the most beautiful churches in the world. You can have either a catholic with civil wedding (in most of the churches) or just the catholic blessing ceremony.
Specific religious paperwork is required in order to perform a Catholic Wedding in Italy. The final approval depends on the local Curia. The documents need to be sent to the Italian Curia at least 2 months prior the wedding.
Even if one of you is not catholic it is possible to have a catholic wedding if you get the "permission of mixed religions".
If you have previously been married in the Catholic Church you cannot remarry unless you have received a formal annulment.
