Civil weddings in Siena take place at the Palazzo Pubblico, a beautiful Gothic Palace built around the 13th century to exalt the power of the Republic of Siena.
It’s located in the heart of Siena facing the picturesque Piazza del Campo, where the famous Palio takes place twice a year.
The exterior partly follows the curve of the piazza itself and is distinguished by the red and white colour due to the use of red brick (typical of Siena) and travertine, a white stone.
The Palazzo Pubblico is a very charming venue for a civil ceremony in Siena. The interiors are among the finest in Italy with amazing ceilings, wall to wall frescoes, fine decors and wood interiors.
Civil weddings are performed in the beautiful “Sala del Concistoro” an impressive hall on the first floor of Palazzo Pubblico enriched by prestigious frescoes of famous Italian painters. It’s one of the most elegant and amazing halls where a very special wedding ceremony can be celebrated.
To reach the marriage hall you must pass through stunning halls all covered with frescoes.
Ceremonies are possible all year around.
